“Just Say Hello”
is a campaign for small gestures with a big message:
Say hello to somebody who doesn’t look like you.
“Just Say Hello” is an initiative to encourage meaningful conversations to bridge the ever-widening divisions of race and culture. Communities need to start talking about real issues and how we can work together to ensure that black, brown, and minority communities are heard and understood.
Waving hello. This simple act of kindness and humanity, of acknowledging somebody as they walk down the street, speaks volumes to improve communication between two people who may otherwise never talk to each other.
This program won’t solve racial injustice overnight. But we do believe that small gestures of kindness are critical in healing a nation and to begin real conversations about racial equality in this country.
Change arises from both big movements and small, everyday actions. Now, more than ever, as people take to the streets, sign petitions, and educate themselves, it is important to remind ourselves that simple acts of kindness are part of the big movement.
